Item Details
From the Spherical series, the Prodigy snow goggles by Smith fit a medium to large face and feature a spherical, Carbonic-X lens with TLT Optics. A patented, adjustable lens ventilation system keeps the lens fog free while an articulating outrigger strap positioning system keeps the goggles comfortably in place with or without a helmet. Straps that adjust quickly, dual layer face foam, and a flexible urethane frame complete the package.

Comment: Excellent lenses. They really make skiing in bad weather easier, but these goggles do not have the tacky strip on the inside of the elastic band that keeps them from flying up and off your helmet when they're not on your face. My previous Smith Prodigy goggles were four years old and they had it.

Comment: Strap is not long enough for a helmet. What is up with that, Smith?!
The lens is good.
Questions From Buyers
What's the difference between a spherical and cylindrical lens? A spherical lens is molded to focus on a point (your eye) and a cylindrical lens is contoured to focus on a line (the line of your eye). A cylindrical lens is easier to make and therefore less expensive while the spherical lens is more optically correct but is more expensive to make.
What is a Carbonic-X lens? It's Smith's proprietary, silicon based, hard coated lens that provides excellent scratch and abrasion resistance.
What is TLT? TLT stands for Tapered Lens Technology. The curve of a lens distorts light as it passes thru. By tapering the lens at just the right places, Smith can offset the natural distortion caused by the curve making light pass thru without distortion. The result is distortion-free, what-you-see-is-what-you-get optics.
