What is Zyl Acetate? Zyl Acetate, or Zylonite, or cellulose acetate, or just plain Zyl, is a lightweight plastic resin often appearing in laminated form with layers of different colors. It offers a rich, dense finish and can be used to create endless color, pattern and texture possibilities.
What is an 10 x 4.5 Base lens? A lens' Base refers to the amount of arc in the lens and therefore the arc in the frame. The first number (10) is the horizontal arc. A 6-Base is a more flat, square shape creating a more scholarly look. A larger base like a 10-Base is more wrapped and therefore will appear more suited for active endeavors. The 4.5 means it's rounded from top to bottom.
